I've been having cooling issues with my truck and after replacing the cap and t-stat I drove my truck around and found that the drivers side was hot and the pass side was cold like the truck had been sitting for hours so I'm pretty confident that the rad is clogged so I need a new one. Is there any good aftermarket choices I'm not looking to spend 800 bucks on one but I'd like to find a good one that wont break 2 days after their 1 yr warranty is out
You don't have a radiator shop around that could clean it for you? But if it is clogged then your whole cooling system sounds like it should be flushed or may just happen again.

^agreed^
i got mine from Performance Radiator® model 1995. fit in all the factory holes, looks good (what you can see anyway), have nothing to hitch up to over heat this beast, but my resisivor tank port deal was broken off and i wanted to build some kind of pressure. this was on the advise of many here. $2 or 300, it was within $25 of the cheapest i could find. o and its all aluminum.
be sure to do a flush, a good one! and rebuild your oil cooler if you haven't already.
It's clogged pretty solid there's no heat in the entire pass side of the rad what so ever and if I spend the money on getting the rad cleaned and its toast then I'm out the cleaning and the rad
for what its worth make sure you pull both block drains and flush that puppy out forwards ,backwards and sideways to sunday so the new one doesn't go the same route....have a coolant filter? if not its the perfect time to do it...and the cooler ac mod....
im a poor boy and did an inexpensive plastic tank unit. I had no fan until recently and had no problems. a all aluminum unit might be better but for my money the stocker was fine with 320k when the fan unthreaded its self into the rad...at high rpm...epic coolant drain to say the least!
Performance radiator has one for $237. Does anyone have anything to say about them? Good or bad? All the local shops have to order it in so either way I'm waiting for it to come in so that's not an issue. is it worth the extra 60 or 70 bucks for all aluminum?
I have the performance radiator like Aaron said. It seems to be doing fine for the short amount of time it has been on there. It fit just like the stock one did. I think it was 271 at diesel power products.
be very careful around that reservoir nipple! who ever touched mine cost me $300 in rad, and fluids. thats why i went all aluminum. i can weld it back together. have fun swapping it out. its not hard. i didn't even take the fan off.
