I'm an old guy, and of late I've become interested in weapons tech. (Note to feds, I don't really even want to buy any ).
I've done a lot of searching for books on the subject, but all I've found seem to assume some previous familiarity. I'd like to find one that has a lot of good diagrams clearly demonstrating how a particular design works. I'd also like one with some good definitions of common terms such as 'sear' and 'battery position'.
Most that I find will have pictures of various models, and maybe some poorly copied exploded diagram showing the various parts.
Please note that I don't want to take a course or join a club. There are too many complications in m life for that these days.
The amount of human energy invested in firearms is astonishing. The variations on the same theme seem almost infinite. Everyone wanted to reinvent the wheel it seems, or at leasted wanted different hubcaps.
There are thousands of You Tube videos explaining firearm operation and maintenance.
There are also many blogs on the subject.
I just looked at my You Tube subscription list and realized I could spend weeks watching firearm instructional videos.
