I've been thinking I'd like a pocket knife, nothing complicated, just a blade and little else. But I'd like one that's still Made in America and of good quality.
Camillus makes a GI knife that is the USGI issue pocket knife from what I have read. Has big fat blade, bottle opener and can opener, awl and I think that is it. It is all stainless and kind of clunky but rugged. I have seen them for sale in catalogs like Sportsmans Guide and Cheaper Than dirt and I think SMokey Mountain Knife works.
Usually you can choose the branch of service. The knives have the year of manufacture on the side plates and the name of the service.
Bucks are also good, but not all are made in the US, some in China some by Wenger(Swiss Army Knife) very nice, I have a couple.
I have a Schrade pocket knife that is very nice and a more classic design than the USGI types.
