Electrical Problem?
#16
This is a common problem with top post batteries in that they are tight, but the connection doesn't actually get made due to corrosion or such. Typically when you disturb it, the connection isn't as troubling, but not always true. Make sure the battery posts and the inside of the cable terminals are clean. Use the terminal cleaning brushes to verify that any oxidation or corrosion is removed. Most times this will fix the issue.
Typically, when my truck acted like the OP's, it was the negative post not having a good connection. I cleaned up my posts real good with a wire battery post cleaner and cleaned the inside of my cables and it hasn't been a problem since.
The only reason I started having issues is due to having to take the cables on and off to work on things on the truck.
Clean the posts, clean the clamps, use some dielectric grease on the posts, and tighten them bad boys down. Shouldn't have another issue.
They also sell battery post protective paint at the automotive stores to keep corrosion away, but I don't know what the difference between that and regular spray paint is. If you've got a good connection, you shouldn't have to spray anything on the clamps.

Got it fixed thanks to everyone, fellro86 was dead on ended up changing the battery terminals and it fired right up. But not with some misinformation from parts stores. I went to advance auto and asked them if they could load test it, they guy kind of looked at me like I was stupid but put the machine on it and said it was a good battery just needed charged. I didn't really get a good feeling about what he said so I took it to autozone and they actually did a load test and said the battery is good and it doesn't need charged at all it is at 94% charge. Long story short though I chased a problem for 2 days that ended up costing me 6 bucks. I guess the old saying keep it simple stupid would apply here since I was trying to overthink it and go to something more serious. Thanks for all the help.
