Your oil cooler is no good. I use stock Ford oil coolers myself. After you install the new oil cooler add about 3 table spoons of Dawn dish washing soap and let it run awhile. Drain and repeat until all traces of oil are gone. And you might want to consider buying a new degas bottle because your old one will never clean up enough to be able to see the coolant level. Ford also sells a quart bottle of cast iron block cleaner that will get everything out of your coolant passages. Flushing is just a long and nasty process that you are going to have to do. Hope this helps
filled it in the kitchen sink with plenty of dawn and hot water, shook it all up and left it over night. clean and now i am going to do the simple green, pull block plugs, buy all new hoses and see what transpires.
If you don't replace the oil cooler you are wasting time and money! But.... it's YOUR time and $.......
is worth it....ford here in Portland is $1500, thats next if this simple green flush along with new hoses and pulling block plugs at thermo (which i didn't do it before)
thanks...
The problem is if you didn't replace the oil cooler after you found the oil in the coolant you will not get the oil out because the oil cooler is still leaking oil into the coolant system.
