Has a P0401 code EGR unSufficient flow. Ive read several things that it could be, from a DPFE sensor to the EGR valve it's self our that the port going into the TB could be plugged. Truck drives fine does not have a miss or anything noticeable when driving other than the CEL, trucks a 4.6 with 200k on it, any pointers on what is normally the fix on this is greatly appreciated
EDIT: Forgot to mention it sometimes gets a P0455 code but i assumed that is gas cap. or could it be related?
I have cleaned my egr valve many times and around 300k I finally replaced it but you should be able to remove it and clean it very easy.
If I was you and it has never been cleaned I would replace it. You can betcha it's clogged.
Easy test for port blockage is to apply a small amount of vacuum to the EGR with the motor running.
If the motor begins to run rough or stall, the ports are open.
Then you look to the DPFE be faulty.
Remember it's a low flow code. If the DPFE can't read the pressure it can't be seen by the computer for either a blockage or faulty DPFE.
Good luck.
Not sure if it would have anything to do with my EGR issue as the EGR code popped after the wreck, but that canister was cracked during the wreck and it has vacuum lines going to it.
I just fixed the crack in it, hope that does fix it. Makes sense being the code poped the next day after the wreck. wont know tell i get the fender back on and it just got its first coat or primmer so thatll be a bit
