I am in the process of replacing the rear fuel tank in my truck (89 Ford F150 4WD) and noticed that the shackle bracket on the passenger side rear is rotted out. Are these replaceable? If so, where do I get them? I am talking about the bracket that is bolted to the frame.
Yes, they are replacable. If you are talking about the rear shackle bracket. This bracket is riveted on, and the new one is bolted on. Not a bad job. I used lotsa penetrating oil FIRST on the leaf spring to get teh bolt loose. Then with heat and an air hammer, the rivets were off in about 20 minutes. I think the shackle mount was around 20 bucks.
I got some Ford brackets form LMC. They are OEM and were about 40 each. I agree with the grade 8 bolts. From what I understand the actual size of the rivets are metric. You can use 7/16 bolts. If you want to slightly drill the holes you can use 1/2 inch bolts. That is what I am going to do. I just can't decide how long they should be. I don't want them to be too short, but they cant really be any longer than 1.75 inches I think. Maybe some others know how long to get.

Please help?
EOTZ5775C .. Rear Shackle Bracket / Right & Left is the same.
I agree with replacing the shackles since its all apart anyway. I have decided to go with 7/16 bolts to replace the rivets in the frame instead of the 1/2 that I previously mentioned. I don't want to drill out the frame and all 4 brackets for 16 bolts. The kits on Ebay include 7/16 bolts. They need to be about 1.5 inches long, and I can't stress enough to get grade 8.
NumberDummy is right that both L and R are the same part.
