New Gryphon

I recently picked up a 2003 Excursion 6.0 and was concerned with all the horrer stories out there. So far everything looks as if it was well taken care of and only had 103K on it when I got it. After a little research I decided to go with Power Hungry Performance and their Gryphon FICM tune.
From the first phone call to Jay at PHP it was a leasure. He listened to what I was looking for, suggested a FICM tune, and even answered my follow up emails quickly and patiently.

My next call to him was just to ask a few more questions and I ended up purchasing it at that point. The Gryphon came in, I called back the next day to ask a question and Jay said hold on as Bill walked in the door.

30 minutes later my tunes were uploaded and that included Bill writing my tune for me. Awesome customer service. Definitely something I don't see much of anymore. Oh, the truck runs great. I am about to take a road trip so I will report back on any changes I see while on the trip.

I highly reccommend the crew at Power Hungry Performance if you are looking to tune your vehicle.

I have nothing but praise for Bill@PHP. He is quite the "artist" when it comes to tuning. He also drives and tests his own tunes and works VERY hard at making them do what they're supposed to do. He's been doing it a very long time and talking to him in person is quite an experience. He has some GREAT transmission tuning also.

Best tank going across LA 75-80 mph 16.8 hand calculated, worst in combo driving and hills here and there 13.6 hand calculated. very happy with the performance and mileage I have out of the Ex with 4wd and mildly aggresive tires on the HWY. Plus all the family is happy with the comfort of the EX during the trip. Love the tune from PHP.

Update: recent 380 mile trip hand calculated at 18.04 mpg. Never drove over 70mph and still had good time. Probably made a few mad going that slow but I like the 1mpg gain.
