I am personally enjoying the Stock Plus file. In fact, I've had the tuner for almost a month and that is the only tune I've used. I don't experience gear hunting like I did before, and I have also noticed that the tranny shifts into OD faster. I bought the tuner for driveability and mileage though, I was not interested in performance. Like you, I wanted to be safe. I have a 280 mile round trip from home to school. I have been filling up, driving 140 miles, driving in town for 4 days, and driving back 140 miles home, and I have seen 17 to 17.5 MPG. This is conservative "grandpa" driving. I drive the speed limit, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol took enough of my money when I had the '03 F-150.
I just requested the General Economy tune today, to see how I like it and what kind of mileage I can achieve from it. When I get it and give the tranny a while to re-learn, I'll be posting results.
There are plenty of posts about performance tunes from Spartan on here as well. I'm sure the guys running them will be quick to chime in as well.
Enjoy!

I agree! I use this as my daily driver. Good fuel economy and it has the jam incase some punk rolls up beside you in a ricer. Good I love giving them a face full of black love!

Do you know what the tune you have is adding? As is horsepower, and Torque? Im interested in doing what sounds like is the best all around tune from Matt. Looking to do a tuner in the next month or two, and have been looking at both SCTII or III, and the Edge setup.

From experience i would stay away from the edge. It shifts like crap especially in the more aggressive settings and it doesn't like to boost in the in these settings either. 19 psi is the highest i ever saw on level five. The gauges and the turbo timer are nice but from what i have seen the dashhawk is the way to go if you dont want to fill your truck with gauges. Just my .02.

Took a little digging but I remembered Matt posting his numbers. You can find them here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...tan-tunes.html

"...Aggressive Street Economy- 105RWHP, 180ft/lbs
Aggressive Race- 140 RWHP, 210ft/lbs
UltraComp Street- 170RWHP, 275ft/lbs

Aggressive Tow- 65RWHP, 135ft/lbs
Heavy Tow- 40RWHP, 105ft/lbs
..."

Well sounds like the aggressive econ tune is the one I am after. Talked me into it. Ive been reading a few problems with the live wire, and read an article in a diesel magazine and the Livewire looks to be bulky and rather large, so thats out, will be doing the SCTII w/ the custom tune. How long should I expect the shipping to be once ordered? Thanks for your help!

The Xcal2 is actually no longer available; it has been superceded by the Xcal3. We do currently have them in stock and they ship same day as ordering. You should see them on your front doorstep within 2-3 days

You will get the tune later by email. When you get the SCT you need to pull the strategy from your truck and send it to Matt. Then he sends you a custom tune for your truck.

Cheers,
Neil

It cost 450.00 shipped. There was a woman who took my order and she had to be one of the nicest people I have ordered from. Talked very highly of Matt and his know how. Mine is due to be here Thursday. Can hardly wait. Ordered on Monday

That would be Ms. Donna. She is indeed an extremely nice lady and keeps Matt on the straight and narrow. If Matt gets out of line she just him up--LMAO.
