Hey there all, I just bought (just as in 5 minutes ago) a 2009 f350 diesel, and I have been looking at a tuner online for awhile now. Its a used Spartan tuner and comes with an s&b? intake. I know I want to tune the truck and delete the dpf as soon as I get the truck home, but my question is about the tuner.
I have been reading about tuners on here for awhile and it seems like the Spartan is acceptable, but I am looking at getting it used. Is there anything about buying a used tuner a guy needs to watch for, like are they vin specific or...?
Any reason NOT to buy a spartan tuner, or install an aftermarket intake? (we dont have emissions here so I will be working to make this truck as close to reliable as my 7.3 its replacing, tall order!)
I have a Spartan and I love it. Make sure that they returned the truck to stock or it is a big fee. The serial # of the Dash Dac is recorded with Spartan. Make sure you find out who it is registered. If you don't know them make sure that it isn't stolen.
You can drop Jeff @ Spartan an email here mailto:jeff@spartandieseltech.com or give them a call. Their customer service has been great to me.
