blend door?

I have an 01 expedition and my ac and heat work fine unless its hot then my ac will blow hot air but as soon as the outside temp cools down my ac will work fine again I hear no noises from the blend door area and I dont have the digital control s I have the three ***** ...does anyone know what this is!!?

The first thing I'd check when it's hot and not cooling, is to see if the compressor hub is turning.
