ac and heat problem!....HELP

Heres the deal ...my heat and ac work fine and the switch is good but when its really hot outside my ac will only blow hot air but as soon as the outside temp drops the ac will work just fine...I was thinking the blend door but now im second guessing myself because I can control the temp with the switch. Any input from anybody would help a lot

You could simply be low on refrigerant. During these times when it's really hot outside, does the A/C compressor run continuously, cycle on and off, or is it not running at all? Do the metal cooling lines under the hood get cold, or are they warm?
