Bed bolt part #'s

Have been trying to find the part number for new bed bolts. Couldn't determine which ones were correct on fordparts.com so went to the dealer and asked. Parts guy gave me the numbers, said two of them were long and six short. Searched fordparts.com and Tousley but didn't find a match. These are the numbers he gave me:

W714263-5900 (long)
W714264-5900 (short)
W708770-5436 (nuts)

To my knowledge they are not TTY bolts. Why not re-use the old ones?

My understanding is that they are galvanized bolts and are to only be used once. Also, they can be very difficult to remove and may need to be cut off from what I've found in other threads. Haven't seen part numbers listed though. Price seemed a little steep, something like $11 for each long bolt, $9 for the short ones, and $9 for each nut. Expected about $5 each.

No need for new nuts, it's a speed nut on the frame.

Just try removing the bolts and replace whatever ones get buggered.

I hve removed several super duty beds and only one truck, a well used 99 put up a fight, the rest were like butter.

I went this route for mine because I had to cut 3 of them
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-SUPER-DUTY-BED-BOLTS-CLIPS-AND-BOLTS-1999-TO-2012-F250-F350-/350712324015?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51a8155faf&vxp=mtrThis guy is in Canada and very nice to work with. What your getting is a full
set of bolts and speed nuts from a bed take-off for $50.00 and that is a much
better price than Ford.

BTW the bolts are not round. They are sort of square a tiny bit so that they
lock into the nut with an interference fit.

I removed the 6 closest to the bed twice when doing the Harpoon mod. The first time only one would not come out. Shot some liquid wrench and let it set for a couple hrs. Came back and it came right out. Maybe I just got lucky. I didnt need to replace mine.

I sprayed mine and let them sit for days and then sprayed again.
I got 1/2 out and the rest I got a induction heater and heated then
up and got more out. The last 2 I had to cut. In the process I broke
5 torx bits on the impact wrench and they were impact rated.

Dang I got real lucky then. I didnt even have to use an impact. I just used a regular 1/2" ratchet.

I typed all 3 of these "part" numbers (with and without the hyphens) into the Ford Dealer Parts Locator System, all are invalid.

Typed them into tousleyfordparts.com: Part numbers not found. So the parts cluck gave you invalid numbers.

Standard (hardware) parts are usually not listed on dealers online parts catalogs, so I suggest you contact FTE sponsor Tousley Ford (now known as Auto Nation Ford) and ask.

And btw: When you have a standard part that begins w/a letter, the part is metric. 1980 and later, the bed bolts/nuts are metric.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just give Tousley a call and see how much they will cost from them.

Where ever you get them Ford is very proud of them and your
going to be looking ant more that a few $$. I checked at the
local dealer and was told somewhere about $29.00 and the
clip nut was up there also. $9.00ish and what they gave me was a
flange nut you can walk into a nut&bolt specially shop and get
for under $2.00.

Like I said they love the bet nuts and bplts a lot.

Called Tousley. They told me there are 3 different length bolts. Seems I get a different answer everywhere. Anyhow, I ordered them so hopefully it works out. Around $63 for all 8 bolts and 8 clips/nuts. I would have paid $72 just for the clips from the dealership in town.

UPS delivered the bolts and nuts today. The part numbers I got from the dealership in town were:

W714263-5900 (long)
W714264-5900 (short)
W708770-5436 (nuts)

So the part numbers are the same according to the invoice except the "5" is actually an "S". And then there is the third size bolt that Tousley said I needed. It's actually the same length as the long bolts, just a slightly different design near the head with part number W714262-S900. If it stops raining long enough and I get some time off work, I might get busy working on this to see where the different bolts go and if I in fact needed three different types of bolts. I've included a pic of the two different long bolts.

BTW, this was my first time ordering from Auto Nation (Tousley) and I am very pleased. Great price, fast service.

W714263-S900 (long, wider taper near head) $4.96 each qty. 4
W714262-S900 (long) $5.03 each qty. 2
W714264-S900 (short) $5.63 each qty. 2
W708770-S436 (nuts) $2.76 each qty. 8
