1 1/8 Are you taking the radius arm off entirely?

I second that , 1 1/8 self locking on the 79s i removed to put on my 73 which look to be the same size with the nut that uses a cotter key. Same end wrench will remove nuts on the bolt that holds the front to the axle . I'm removing all of the 73 f-100 front and replacing with 79 F-150 parts .

I believe i used a 9/16 wrench to remove the small clamp at the top of the coil springs to release them from the spring top cap. Shocks may be 5/8 and 9/16 , i don't remember. Take a wire brush and lot's of panther XXXX.

I was thinking 76 came with disc ? My 73 has them . Is it 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive ?

Bring a majority of your SAE size sockets, lots of lube, wire brush, a breaker bar and maybe a cheater bar to go on your breaker bar.

Hope I'm not to late to tell you the socket i had was not a deep one and would not work , so i ran in to the parts store ,NAPA, and bought a combination box end open end wrench. Sorry i forgot to say i had to do that.

I already had the complete front from one of my old 79 super cabs i scraped out. So i really don't know what they are worth. The reason i am changing mine over is the 73 never came with a good stabilizer bar and the 79 i have has it along with the heavy duty progressive front coils . They could be ordered with the 460 , made from thicker wire stock i guess is the right term to use.

I'm thinking the $300.00 is within reason since you are getting everything from the steering column joint to the ground . He should include the springs and shocks too even if you don't need them.

was a lot easier than i thought it would be. the proportioning valve attached to the steering gear. i thought they were located on the frame? i snagged the steering gear anyways i planned on replacing most the parts with new, but this thing is in really good shape. might just clean it up and slap it on.
