Maybe because that is exactly what it sounds like is wrong? Symptoms of the condensation in the CAC are pretty common and well known at this point.

This kind of problem will clear up after the water is blown out of the CAC, but the OP ended up being towed.

He chose to have it towed, the dealer told him it would be ok to drive.

Huh...I missed that the first time around. Feeling pretty dumb at the moment.

I had this happen to mine as well just this past weekend. Its been raining like a SOB here, so I took a trip to a vendor show at Turning Stone which is about 90 miles away.

It drove fine all the way, made the last leg, got off the thruway, tried to pass a truck...no power check engine light flashing, stumbled for a bit, then cleared up. I'm assuming its related to the tsb, but not sure. I was able to drive it home, but the same exact thing happened on the return trip in almost the same scenario. I took the truck to the dealer and left it off for them to diagnose.

Its my company truck so I'm not sure when I will get it back. Its a 2012 with a 6/11 build date I think. I was going to start another thread, but I figured I would post in here and share my experience. This truck only has 4200 miles on it and has run flawless up to now, its a great truck and cant wait to get it back. BTW its a emergency vehicle as I am a Chief in the fire department up here.

Sorry to derail or hijack your thread,

Sarge

Same thing happened to me as Sarge...loooong trip in the pouring rain with A/C on and no heavy throttle. It sputtered, so I backed off. Did it once the next day on the return trip, but I gradually increased my full throttle episodes throughout that day, and it's been fine since.

I think that's the key problem. Driving it too easy in those situation. You have to occasionally give it the beans, blow all that crap accumulating in the I/C before it becomes a significant amount and you're good to go.

I did get my truck back yesterday, they replaced the CAC assembly and reprogrammed the PCM/TCM, so far I haven't had any further issues. It will however take me a little while before it gets on a long trip again as I mostly local with this truck.
