I just did the plugs on an 02 expy this the third one I have done in the last 2 years. And I hope the engineer that designed this spark plug systems gets to spend eternity in hades changing plugs in these vehicles. These things suck when it comes to plug changes.

If it weren't for the back two, Especially on the passenger side #4, it really isn't that bad once you take several deep breaths, have the right tools, duct tape to keep the socket and extensions together, lay a mat down on top of the engine, tie off all the heater hose/vacuum stuff, etc.
Fortunately from experience, you know what you're getting into again. At least you don't have the 2 piece plugs to create more havoc.

Yep you are right you basically have to get in bed with it and have a boat load of swivels and assorted extension lengths to get these plugs changed. Actually number 7 on drivers side was a pain they put the fuel pressure regulator over the coil hold down bolt. And I have turned down a couple of plug changes on 3 valve engines because of the 2 piece plug issue.
