E4OD has started to flare...
I recently replaced the Injector pump and they always have to go in a row right?
I was given a off the top of his head quote of $3500 for a full rebuild and shift kit installation by a 30+ year mechanic friend. I felt that might be a little high, and I can get it down by buying the parts required myself and cutting out a lot of the markup the shop will charge me.
Or I pick up a ZF5 on CL for like $5-600... 6500km's on it since a rebuild and convert my truck into a manual. Guy even has a Solid Flywheel, and Clutch.
I love the E4OD she's served me well, truck I learnt to drive had one. In this ole girl she's gone cruising, towed, 4x4'd just about everywhere I shouldn't have taken her. Other than the tow capacity increase (Which I've honestly never towed anything over 9000 lb's) is there anything that justifies I spend that kind of money, other than I like the E4OD?
