I like to run around 180, that put's my oil temps at 210

195 is more advisable for best economy, 180 for better "performance"

Pick your poison.

I like to run about 195 on all of my vehicals unless i am doing long drives that keeps the engine temp constant , then 180 works for me. 180 or less with short winter time drives has made a lot of sludge build up in my engines in the past. My $.02 worth.__

I would not worry , But if you are worried you could go a little colder if you don't mind changing them. Myself I would call it good as long as i'm not running 210 or more all the time. Some engines do run hot and do okay , others can't take it.

OK thank you for the reply but what do you change to make it colder?

190-200 is the optimum for daily driving.

160-180 for racing.

230+ is time to rethink the cooling situation.

Oil temps generally run 20-30 degrees hotter than coolant temps +/- on most motors.

As long as oil temps get over 210 that's hot enough to burn off condensation and impurities to prevent sludge build up.

Like i said before don't worry you are good at 190 and i would just leave it that way . Short cold drives are murder on most engines, get it heated up.

Factory thermostat settings are 190-195. Running in the 190-200 range is perfectly normal and healthy. With extended idling in hot weather if it warms up to 210 or even 220 no problem as long as it cools off on a roll. Sounds like you are good.

With my 195 thermostat, and 200F electric fan -- 195 is right at the A on NORMAL and L is 200. These gauges are not very accurate so yours may vary....

I run a mechanical gauge in tandem with my factory gauge, 180 degrees places the needle between N and O.

But every engine/truck/cooling combo will be different.
