Help with Carburetor Identification

i'll try and post a pic or two when it quits raining outside so i can get them...i have a 1956 ford f100 with a 302 motor taken out of ?...not sure yet ....with a carb on it taken from ?...not sure yet either....the carb is motorcraft two barrel....a little piston/plunger behind the choke plate on top ....i'm guessing from what i can find it isn't a 2100....possibly a 2100D or a 2150 ...it does have the 1.08 on the drivers side and below on the same side at the bottom has 40GA stamped into it....still haven't found a for sure clear cut answer on what it stands for and none of the parts stores seem to be able to interpret it either....help??
