I pulled everything apart, kept the same bottom end, put new bearings, new cam, new lifters, new p-rods, new OP and started fresh. This time, we broke the cam in correctly. So far she runs like a dream. Now I just yearn for more power!

What cam did you put in this motor ? I ran a stock 400 in a 78 SB F100 with the stock pistons with a Summit PN 5200 cam several years ago and it ran great with it. Intake was the stocker topped with a Holley 500 cfm 2 bbl and had nothing else but full length headers.

The cam is a Comp 268H with the timing straight up at 0, it has stock .030" over pistons, mild Cleveland 2v heads, edelbrock intake, 670 holley street avenger, hooker headers and a HEI distributor.
