Let's talk "just" mufflers

I have read through most all the exhaust threads for our trucks.......

I would like to hear from the guys that have just changed the muffler.....leaving everything else.

I have removed the stock muffler to see how loud it is coming out of the resonator.....and it's not for me. I want a nice sound but nothing too loud and definitely do not want a drone! My uncle has a heart throb setup on his truck (Avalanche) and it sounds pretty good.

Nothing fancy and I will most likely stay with the single exit stock location just wanna change the muffler for a little sound. So who has done this and what muffler did you use?

I put a Walker Big Truck Muffler on my last ford with single exhaust. I tow for hours on end and that drone annoyed me.

As far as the 6.2 goes, It seems to me that this thing does plenty of snorting out the stock exhaust when putting out the ponies at 4500 rpm.

of course I am way over the hill and not interested in the decibels.

I put a Flowmaster 40 series and it sounds great. Not too loud at all.
