question about timing

question about timing

so ive finally got everything working proper on the bronco, its runnin and soundin great, im wondering though where to set the timing, i currently have it set to 10 degrees BTDC, but ive heard of some people setting it to 12 is it any better?

If you advance it some...you can get a little more power and possibly better gas mileage.

Best I have ever done is about 11º BTDC.

Every motor seems to be a little different. FWIW I had mine set at 16deg and it ran great unloaded but strap 5k behind and it pinged like crazy so now I'm back down to 13deg.

If it doesn't have a computer, advance it just till it starts to detonate or ping, then back it off 2-3 degrees.
