Well I took some chrome stuff off of an 81 f250 custom that was in better shape than my chrome but its dirty and for the life of me can't get it cleaned off so I'm gonna strip the chrome off and rechrome it.

scuff it and shoot it. May have to use glazing putty to smooth it. The top and bottom "bars" are anodized metal.

I can tell you from experience that Castrol Super Clean will strip it off clean. Just let it sit in a bucket of the stuff for a few days to a week. I found this out years ago inadvertently when I left some A/C vents from a Chevelle in the stuff to get them real clean. When I pulled them out they didn't have a trace of chrome on them! I had to get them re-chromes at that point..
