i'm trying to sell a rebuilt 390 with 5000 miles, edelbrock carb and intake, msd ignition, performance cam, and new alternator, guessing its about 325 h.p. how much should i be asking for it?
Tough to say. Is it somewhere a person could here it run? If not, unless you're willing to give a guarantee with it, most will assume it's a buildable core. That kills the value right there. If it's on an engine stand or in a truck and a perspective buyer can hear it run, you should be able to get $800 for it. If not, about $400 is the best you'll be able to do.
Of course, those prices are for southwest Missouri. I really couldn't tell you what one would pull wherever you live. These old Fords vary unbelievably from area to area. What sells for $3,000 in N.Y., wouldn't bring $1,000 out here.

I'm wondering the same. I have two of them. One from a 66 galaxy and another from a 66 t bird. Currently all in pieces and am using one of the blocks for a 445 build but have lots of pieces and parts to sell and the second block. Also came with a new erson cam as well. So sny idea what a 390 can be parted for?
Out here in WA, I am buying a 390 from a '68 F-250 for $150. It was from a running truck but I will rebuild it for my '75 F-100. But, I just bought a Performer 390 for $240, 1406 carb for $130 and gaskets, hoses and consumables for $200. I think $700-800 is more than reasonable for a confirmed, non-smoker runner. Just my 2 bits.

You need to define rebuilt. Was it reringed, bearings, no clearances checked or blue printed, balanced & professionally assembled ? Makes a big difference in price.
