I will be doing a tune up on my 1995 F150 with the inline 6. I can get motorcraft plugs and motorcraft fuel filter from my local O'reilys. I was also going to pick up a distribuor cap and rotor while I was there (they do not have these in motorcraft) unless someone here advises me I should wait until monday to get those in Motorcraft also. I like to stick with all motorcraft parts if necessary, but the cap and rotor wouldn't really make a big difference would it? I will be using copper plugs. Please add any suggestions you may have.
Good call on the plugs and fuel filter. For these Motorcraft parts are the best option.
For cap/rotor, I have used Accel parts with good success. You did not say what brand the O'Riley's offerd, but if it is Autolite I would stay away. I had nothing but problems with Autolite cap/rotor and plug wires.
For plug wires, the best ones I have found are made by Taylor. There is a custom fit kit available for this truck and the quality of the wires is top notch.
Do not forget dielectric grease for the plug to wire and wire to cap connections. Also some light grease or high temp anti-seize on the plug threads is not a bad idea.
P.S. I got the cap/rotor and plug wires at Summit Racing.
