Just wondering if they make scuff plates for the 55' Ford f100? I am not even sure if that is what they are called. It's the plate thats on both sides by the door that bolts to the floor and also holds the carpet down as well. Anyone help me here
Mid Fifty does have them, I've purchased a set. I call them sill plates, screws to the top of the floor and holds the carpet in place and spruces up the interior a bit. They look nice and fit perfectly.

If you don't already have one, give Mid Fifty a call Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Home and ask them to send you a copy of their free catalog. It has a lot of valuable information in it besides just parts listings. It belongs on any 53-56 owners book shelf!

Agreed, one of the first things I did, and I'm in Blighty...
Good point! The fibers in the carpet will wrap around the drill bit and you'll end up with a "run" across the entire carpet. Instead drill the screw holes without the carpet in place, put the carpet in and set the metal on top, hold a nail in a pair of pliers and heat red hot. Stick the hot nail thru the holes in the metal to melt a hole in the carpet, then insert the screw. If you are wealthy enough to afford wool carpet, the hot nail will not melt it and will make a burning hair smell. Just poke thru the carpet with an awl or icepick instead.
