Does this actually change the throw and it allows more movement by pushing farther at linkage?
Why does this happen with this style clutch? My neighbor who is a mechanic pulled a tranny on an '85 because the customer was experiencing the same issue. The clutch looked new. Then he replaced the slave with a pre set one. Same issue. Stumped, he looked under the dash at the linkage and saw the adjustable unit. He removed the pin, spun the eye 3X and it was like new. He did not charge the customer for pulling the tranny.
I have just learned something , And I am here to say , I made a mistake ! I have NEVER seen an adjustable rod on a Ford hyd. clutch set up . I said there was no adjustment . On the one pictured above , there is ! I have seen this feature on Asian makes and some Big trucks , not on a Ford . You learn something every day if you keep your eyes , ears , and mind open ! Thanks for the lesson ifrythings !
