Need two Aerostar Support Mount Bushings - Ford part # F09Z-3A443-A
Hi - We need two (2) Support Mount Bushing kits for a 1997 Ford Aerostar AWD; Ford part # F09Z-3A443-A. Please contact me at prof77@aol.com if you know where I can get them! Thx - Norman
PS. Is there any other part that can be made to work?
AFAICT, the crossmembers are the same across RWD & AWD, from '90-on. The lowest one in the pic above came off a '92 RWD, and it appears the same as the others.
I've got one of the bushings out and on my desk right now. I looked into buying a bushing to replace them, but haven't found a good one yet. ATM I'm thinking of buying some Flexane and pouring it into the shells.
It would be trivial to bold the crossmember solid to the frame, but I'm looking for a solution that still allows some flex and vibration isolation.
How did you proceed? I have a 95 AWD and 94 2WD both have the bushes totally gone. Been trying for years to find a good used X member, or bushes, but not a hope now. Did you manage to cast something in to make the assembly more solid?
I used a Dremel (small die grinder) and cut away the sort-of large spot welds that retain the bushings into the crossmember, and then pressed them out, rotated them either 90° or 180°, depending on what worked best, and pressed them back into the crossmember. I could get a couple more years out of them that way, and then I sold my last (of five) Aeros, in 1997 -- replaced with a '10 Sienna AWD, which I still own.
