Maybe I'm thinking of something different, who knows. I mean whatever it did before the whole note of the exhaust would change to a deep rumble without any turbo whistle. I just don't know how someone could miss that haha. But anyways I'm not sure what happened to the EGR valve. Maybe I should give em a call and ask for it back? Haha.
That is the veins cycling.
I would certainly ask for the valve back. My EGR is deleted but I left the valve in the intake manifold.
Sounds like that's what I'll do. My original plan was to leave it plugged in, just some confusion I guess. Is the truck okay to drive until then or should I wait until the valve is back in?
You'll be ok to drive without the valve for awhile. The vane sweep can be accomplished by laying on the skinny pedal every now and then, so you excersise the vanes. The fan not reaching full rpm could be a issue if your towing heavy.

WOT runs is definitely not an issue. won't be towing heavy so I should be fine. One last thing though, I pulled the valve out prior to the delete and after I cleaned it I still couldn't open it. Not sure if the thing is just stuck or what, but would that make a difference? Or does it just need to be plugged in?
Hate to derail this thread and sound like a newb at the same time.. but what is this turbo sweep that you guys talk of and how do I tell if mine does it? I am very new to the 6.0 i haven't even picked mind up from the dealer yet, its already purchased though
after reading the threads on here i can see why it does it, but not how to tell if mine is doing it.
The VXAP1 and VXAP2 strategies are the 03 PCM/motor. If you have a 05 PCM/motor, then Your strategy will start with VXC.
Just because you hear the fan turn on, doesn't mean it can reach full RPM with the EGR valve unplugged.
Here is the requirements for the Vane Sweep.
The PCM commands the variable geometry turbo actuator duty cycle from 15% to 85% in a step pattern to help the turbo vanes achieve full movement. Vane sweep occurs when the following conditions are present:
The vehicle is stopped.
The EGR is commanded off.
The engine speed is less than 1,160 RPM.
The engine oil temperature is greater than a calibrated value.
Vane sweep repeats approximately every hour if the previous conditions still exist. Vane sweep may occur during scan tool commanded test functions.
Noticed it says "EGR Commanded Off", if its not plugged in, the PCM can't see that it's off.
GREAT INFO REPS SENT!!!

I think the custom tune writers can add the vane sweep, but don't quote me on that.
I bet they can
I was even thinking to have them Mess with my Fan Trigger Temps with a Tunner

Don't overheat your truck with that EGR Valve out of the Loop SUMMER IS HERE May overheat FAST in the right Conditions
Im shure they have the EGR Valve
A new egr valve is like $$150.00-200.00 Spendy for something YOU HAD that should be left installed in a 6.0L
