97 explorer motor change

Somebody help! I would like to change my 1997 explorer v6 motor to a v8 . Does anyone know what motor will bolt to the stock trans. or does anyone know where I need to look to find out? I am pretty ignorant about Fords so any help will be apprecianted. I just rebuilt the trans about 8 k ago so I would like to use it. Thanks.

Um...I don't think any will bolt up to it. You could fit the 5.0L V8 under the hood and get a 4R70W to go with it. I doubt a V8 could use the tranny in the truck already.

What about the transfer case? So ,,, I would have to change motor, trans, transfer case (hopefully not driveshafts), computer and computer wiring harness?
