T-19 started making noise like something is loose just started all of a sudden, mainly in 3rd gear and has less noise in 4th. topped off Gear oil, it took about 8 ounces, Right now it's just annoying sill shift's fine. any help would be appreciated.
Yes I thought I might end up having to tear it down and fix it. I have rebuilt these engines but have not ever tore apart a gear box any one know of a good manual? Thank's Mudguts.
i haven't had a t19 apart myself, but i have had a handful of other trannies apart. you'll want a good assortment of pullers and maybe a small hydraulic press, as well as a solid set of snap ring pliers. from there, just keep everything in order and facing the right way.
maybe someone else has a manual for it, but i don't
Thank's sound's like rebuilding a carb, I have a friend who is a machinst That has a shop. (he used to build NASCAR engines) so he will have any presses or puller's that I may need, I used it today to pull my 2 yard concrete mixer and it was quiter under load.
you uses presses and pullers for rebuilding carbs o.0 lol
of course we do they're just a lighter duty version of presses and pullers, which are sometimes referred to as fingers
but i get what he meant, the careful laying out of parts in order, all that stuff, yeah, just like doing a carb or anything else you're not totally familiar with the internal workings of
on other trannies i've had apart, you would swear that every darn piece is pressed onto the shaft, and in some cases i've had to use two pullers together to get something off.
i highly recommend having 2 large tables for your workspace, one of which sees active work, and the other to store parts in order.
