I ordered one today from 1-800-RADIATORS. They are not far from me. They had the best price. They sell all brands. I bought a unit made by APDI. They make radiators in Mexico for several different brands. They are actually in the old Modine/Proliance factory. 1-800-RADIATORS offers a lifetime warranty. I bought a 3 core high effency unit, it replaced the 4 core units everyone used to offer.
$210 delivered to my door. Same radiator Advance & O'reily carries. The APDI part number is 8010132. This is the same as Vista-Pro, Advance & Oreily's part number 436002.
The unit is made by Thermal Solutions Inc. but sold by ADPI & Vista Pro. I ordered ADPI part no. 8010132 but received a TSI 436002. You can go to TSI's website and read the specs on the radiator and their other offerings. When you go to TSI's website and look at their parts, you wind up in the same parts catalog you get if you started with Vista-Pro's website. ADPI's online catalog isn't as nice and has the same description for all it's radiators. It hasn't been updated.
Sorry, but it's still waiting to be installed. We've been building a loft bed for my youngest and doing gardening projects. As soon as I finish painting the bed the radiator is next. I should get to it over the weekend. I will let you know how it goes and take some pictures.
cool thanks I am about a month away from ordering , going to install the classic auto AC/heater and radiator at same time . maybe add electric fan too (still researching that )
I was planning an electric fan but after talking with Griffin, BeCool and several other folks I've decided against it. I will be doing a lot of towing and seems the electric fan isn't the best for towing. Most tow setups keep the mechanical fan, some use a combo of both types but the mech. is the primary.
We've had a busy summer so I farmed out the radiator and some other work to a mechanic friend of mine. The new radiator fit like a glove. It is now installed.
I just replaced the radiator in my 1968. Not sure of the brand, but it is all aluminum tubes and plastic tank. Keeps the 360 very cool even idling in Texas 100 degree heat.
Plastic tank, aluminum tubes. Sounds like China.
I am an engineer with some forty years experience and I can tell you that things almost always go wrong at the interface. Either between companies who build stuff or materials.
Plastic and aluminum do not work together. There is this coefficient of expansion thing. The China part will keep you cool for a year or two but it will fail at the interface.
John above is right: Modine will do you well if they have not been bought out by China and if they still sell brass parts.
Just an opinion from hard-won experience.
