I got ahold of these yesterday (2005-2007 Ford F250 18" 3603 - All Factory Wheels) and 2 tires need to be swapped before I can drive on them and the other 2 are sketchy. I'm more interested in a quiet ride as it's a 2wd and will never go offraod. Searching last night all I could find were LT tires, the Excursion doesn't strike me as a light truck lol.
It's definitely in the LT category. The next class up I think is the OTR semi sized tires, which get into regroovable. What you want to avoid on an Excursion is a P code tire, or passenger car.
Michelin is about the quietest that I know and all around best highway tire. HUGE difference going to those over the Bridgestones on my last Ex previously. They are just a little quieter than the '03-'05 OEM BF Goodrich Rugged Trails.
I did just get a calculated 17.2 mpg with my Michelins a couple weeks back, so they definitely have a lower rolling resistance than others out there.
They came off of an 05 so spacers aren't needed I thought... I passed up a set of OEM 20's for $200 more because they wereoff of a 2012 and I can't afford spacers... Please tell me this isn't true. My wife will KILL me if I can't run these
Well I just got back from the gas station and aired up the tires. Time to put the other front one on and take it for a spin I guess I'll post pics when I get back... Wish me luck!
Just got back from my neighborhood trip and hmmmmm... Just a little running on the frame but it looks like that's all.
Tires are really low so I'm going to head to Wal-fart (that was bad) and have them balanced and aired up correctly. Maybe that will help a little... Maybe I'll be alright?
the 2wd guys are not as bad off, you can get by with that just fine IMO try not to turn it to full lock if possible and you will not have an issue. i would try to secure your ABS sensor wire though before it gets ripped apart from the tire.
