Problem with ignition switch in steering column

My 1990 F250 ignition switch turns roughly 340 degrees but will not start or stop the motor. The ignition is stuck in the run position so I can start the truck by jumping the starter solenoid. I replaced the switch itself and it did not fix the problem. Something I am not sure what that is beyond the ignition switch is broken or stuck. I went to the dealer and checked Chilton manuals and cannot find a diagram that show what the part would be in the steering column. I am hoping someone else has had this problem and knows the fix.

did you replace the ignition switch, or the key cylinder?
it sounds by your description you changed the key cylinder, and that your problem is a broken ignition actuator.
