Robert is an awesome source for hard to find parts. The Truck Shop in Orange is another good source. CPP is also down there and is a pretty good source for disk brake conversion parts
My son and I did the same thing with a 66 F250 we bought when he was 14 and fixed it up over time. He had a great time driving it to and from High School. We are in Norco, close to you. I agree with Dave, The Truck Shop in Orange is a good source, especially when you want to get the parts right away.
We also installed a new dash pad, which was a little nerve racking, but came out great.
Nothing more cooler than building a truck with either your kid or dad; in my opinion.
You bet, I try to keep my 9 year old son involved in my build. Show him what can be done with your hands, some work, and some know how, and the skies the limit. Less TV, videogames, and distraction is always good.
