Made my e99 come alive and mpg also went up. Never a problem with the T500 here.
Same here Chet. This HAS to be one of the first things you do to an e99 truck. I used to rank my mods 1- Tuner, 2- Amp/Subwoofer, 3,4,5. After the T500 install, it's right up there with #1
I filled up today and for the tank I got 16.59 MPG. That's huge for my truck. I spent over a decade at 13-15, only seeing 16+ once. Now I avg 15.5 to 16.5.
One of these days I'm going to suck it up and buy some e99 bellowed up pipes and see what happens. I've never touched them and I'm right about 300,000 now.
Well I like the up pipes,IH. I did change my turbo to late model style with the WW. When I pulled my up pipes off the left side just came out in my hand. The top. I couldn't see any soot till I removed them either. I have way better boost and power then what I had. I also added a 1.0 exhaust housing at the same time. So with 300K Andy I'd say you have a leak at the up pipes if you never had them off. I'm still running AB injectors but have wanted to change for sometime now. Seems I have other theses to address first. Hope to see you at the next get together.
A mill? I need a mill! In fact I just sold off a bunch of machines and parts to make room for a mill. I have been mill shopping for about 5 years now. lol
Mill...yeah, I got one. I am busy lathe shopping. I bought a Tree mill and a Japanese surface grinder from my dads work when they got rid of them. Supposedly they are getting rid of the lathe next summer, but I have had 5 projects in the last couple months that would have went a lot better/easier with my own lathe. I should probably wait for my dads because it will come fully tooled and anything on CL is either bare or really big money.
Anybody have experience building a GOOD self start rotary phase converter?

Those rotary converters on ebay are pretty good priced for a plug in and go unit. I planned on getting one when I got a mill and 3 phase lathe eventually but then I keep reading about all these people loving their static converters with soft start, speed control, and whatnot for also a good price. Such decisions.
Even though small I have been very happy with my 110v atlas lathe. It has done everything I have ever needed to do in a lathe and even more. The only reason I am thinking a 3 phase machine at some point is because I want at least 15" of swing eventually. But I will probably still keep the atlas just because it is a nice machine to work with.
The problem with statics is they can only get 2/3 or 3/4 (I don't remember) of the total hp out of a motor. That probably doesn't matter, but the one time it does I will sure be mad.
I love this town, however our current Mayor isn't to good. He is a whiny kid that only looks to better his situation/business which he just filed bankruptcy on.
I have also read that the third leg can be balanced out with caps and stuff, all of which I have no idea how to do and the reason I was looking at the ebay rotarys that are ready to go. One other thing to consider is I hear the rotary converters use more power than a static. I guess the static is more favored for grinders because of the soft start and speed control.
Were coming back around to it Stewart, first we have to get tooled up with the lathes and mills and the phase converters to run those lathes and mills before we can clamp down the HPOP and do the work. Just wait till we start talking about what tap to use, what size, what kind of insert, and if we should use red loctite or green.
Use red on the big stuff, green on the small (#10 and below). That's what I use on my Harley. I am thinking of moving back to Point. This Florida sunshine is killing me
