Speedometer Cable Woes
well guys, i have a 1977 f250 custom that i just recently had some exhaust work done on, however the shop clamped my speedo cable to a different location on the frame and it ended up falling on my exhaust and burning in two. i bought a new cable, but i have no clue on how to go about fixing this, any advice?

Depends on the truck but the speedo cable will attach to the speedo gauge (obviously) and the other end will attach to either the back of the transmission (auto) or to the transfer case. There's just 1 bolt on the transmission end that will let you pull the old one out and put the new one in. Then it's just a matter of routing it back through the same/similar path and throwing a few zip-ties on it.

It can be kind of a pain getting the cable off of the back of the speedo there is 2 prong clip that hold it on to the speedo. At least its hard with my big hands...make sure you get the new one snaped on all the way too. Its not fun having to take the dash back apart because the cable fell off a day after you thought you just put it on
