88'idle surging
88' f150 v-b with a/c on and start it the engine surges twice up and down and then shuts off. If you get it gas it will stay running. Just that it idels down so low while surging and shuts off. I have checked the EGR with vac guage and voltmeter and it checks out ok and I have checked the TPS and it checks out ok with meter. Please help....any suggustions?

if Dr.Ford's suggestion doesnt help, get it to a shop and have the fuel pressure checked. When mine went out, (the pump), it woulnd't idle & I think it may have surged also. been about 2 yrs ago. It seems that the extra voltage/amps generated at higher rpm's was enough to keep the pump going. (my opinion on that issue)By the way, the pump manufacture told be that running these little pump motors dry will greatly shorten the life- the gas running thru the armature/brushes keeps it cool. hope to be of some help....
