G'day gents.
I'm mocking up my front end, so I can prep the front wings on the truck. I've mounted the saddle temporarily using some P/U pucks I found lying around. Mid fifty sell the central rubber saddle, BUT, are there supposed to be 2 mounts either side of that? It makes sense to, as it stabilises the whole caboodle.
My real questions are:
How thick are the rubber mounts supposed to be?
Does anyone have an exploded diagram showing the 2 extra mounts ( if they exist)
Please edit your signature so it tells us automatically what year and model truck you have. You might also put your location in the appropriate place so we remember we're dealing with an overseas situation (reduced parts choices).
As I recall you have a mid-fifties F-100? They have rods going to the firewall to stabilize the radiator. They don't show here tho.
Refering to the rubber pads between the horseshoe and the crossmember that the mounting bolt(s) went through? IIRC There was one used in 53-55, 2 in 56. The 56 pads were ~ 1/4"- 5/16" thick (from memory, hard to access to measure) repros I got were made from a fairly stiff fabric reinforced rubber similar to tire wall.
