I trimmed down the lower valance under the front bumper. First I removed it, but all the mounting holes were exposed, plus the bottom of the bumper has an exposed lip and it looked bad, so I just cut the valance down so it just covered the holes and lip. The front of the truck doesn't look as low to the ground now. I'm also thinking of getting some type of bumper/guard to hide some of the huge grill.

I wouldn't do that. The front valance actually helps with fuel economy.
the black on those grilles makes a huge difference looks way better than the two big chrome lips that Ford stuck in there...and yeah I like the 08-10 grilles that match the color of the truck best too
I went for in between a full replacement bumper and a bull bar. It still provides a ton of protection while costing less than the full replacements. Also helps break up the wall of a grille on the front. Mounts straight to the frame horns using the OEM bumper bolts. The bars are 1.5" tubes with 1/4" uprights. Solid 1 piece steel.

Great looking truck! I actually started out looking for an XL, but this XLT worked out the best. I am hoping there is a vinyl floor under my carpet. Those grille guards are kinda cool too. What brand is that? Surely not a Ranch Hand.
Also glad to see I am not the only guy who bought a 6.2 gasser! This engine is a new beast not to be compared to the old 5.4! I always get the "why didn't you buy diesel" question from co-workers and friends. It all came down to what I could find (I was buying used not new) and my price range.
Cheers!

Robby, is that your truck? What are the specs on everything done to it? What year and model is it? I'm fixing to start a build for my nonprofit and would love to use this as a template!!
