I live in southern New Jersey and I want better front end protection for one reason.... DEER. ARB, Fab Fours, Buckstop, Winch Ready, Warn, and a host of other fabricators sure to make some nice SD bumpers, but the price tag on these big-truck bumpers are f*****g nuts! I'm not looking for a $2000 showtruck bumper, but rather a heavy duty front end assembly that you might find on a an off road work truck or one of those over-built forestry SD's.
anyone know of good source for that type of equipment? thx.
I'm getting a Frontier grill guard (that utilizes the factory bumper, not that replaces it too) for $450 from a local custom shop. I had one on my '03 Chevy K2500, and it was plenty stout. I'm not sure about the cost of the front end replacement now, but I could've gotten it around $1000 then.
Frontier and Ranch Hand make heavy grill gaurds and front end replacements, that are just as stout (probably stouter than some) and more economical than some of the more widely known names. They also make rear bumpers, nerf bars and headache racks to match. They're proven and very popular down here in farm/ranch and oilfield country.
