Most likely installed by the dealer. That console would not have been a factory install. I know the RSE systems were available as a dealer add on.

Go here and go to the vehicle tab, plug in your vin and you should pull up the as ordered/built info. I think it's only good back to 2000-2001 maybe You do not have any vehicle info in your profile.

Looks like the dealer may have upgraded the overhead console, the factory overhead monitor/console for the vhs was a small pod not much bigger than the monitor itself. Reading through that pdf, it even shows the small unit. All my gear was under the seat when I got it, I have the regular radio only RSE floor console.

I've seen pictures of guys with their stuff under their seats. my VCR is in the center console. I'm going to head back to the dealer again and ask them if they can give me more insight into this. I just want to find a monitor that plugs into the cables that are in place.

Dealer installed a similar one when my '03 was new.

Except mine is longer with 2 tvs. 1 for each row. They put VCR and DVD under the second row. Kids watch different movies on each screen with 2 channel headphones.

Was state of the art back then. How times have changed.

It is very strange that they even had the thought of a VCR. Even in design stages in say 1997 and 1998 it was pretty darn obvious DVD is the only thing people use. I just don't understand how stuff like that gets past a "board" of designers and people voting to use the design. I don't even think video rental places had VCR tapes on the shelf yet in 1999. lol
