Has anyone had problems with the Moog bushings? Just curious because the ones for a Thunderbird are not worth the time to replace them. The Bird owners suggest using only Motorcraft bushings.
The Moog bushings in my Bird only lasted 14,000 miles and started to crumble out. It was after they went out that I found the Motorcraft recommendation.
I have not been able to find Motorcraft Bushings for my truck yet. No lift and 2 wheel drive.
The only difficulty I noticed with the Moog bushings isn't really Moog's problem; the (riveted-in) brackets don't contact the bushings squarely. To get the nuts on required a come-a-long to pull the radius arms rearward for the nuts to engage threads.
I found that dropping the sway bar/cross member assembly allowed the radius arms to be pulled forward, instead of removing the brackets.
The truck is a '96, perhaps the next-gen brackets were all the plant had, so they used them?
