Carburetor Help

I have a 292 Y-Block in my 54' F100. I am not a very knowledgeable mechanic. I am trying to figure out what I wanna do with the carburetor situation. I have 2 choices. I can find a 4 barrel intake manifold and go to a 500cfm carb or I can keep the 2 barrel and find the best performing carb for that. I was told that someone made a 390cfm 2 barrel carb that performs really well but I am not sure how to find that. I need big time help here and if I can get part numbers that would be great.

Gary, is that 292 running with a loadomatic distributor? If so, that will have a lot to do with your choices.

Swapping to a 4 BBL manifold and carb will give you no advantage over the 2 BBL on a stock engine, nor will a high performance 2 BBL. Just go with a stock replacement carb.
