292 intake manifold

292 intake manifold
I have a 292 in My 55' F100. The motor came with 3 manifolds, one of them is for a 2 barrel holley. The part# is B9EA-9425-B ... Will a 500 CFM 2 barrel Holly fit on this manifold ??? With the gas prices these days and since I have this manifold already I was hoping that this would work. Also if it does can I sand blast the manifold and powder coat it ? Any help or feed back before I have to go looking for a 4 barrel manifold and carb?
Thanks

Installing a carb that's too big reduces part throttle metering accuracy, especially with a 2bbl carb. I'd be looking for an Autolite 4100 or a Holley 450cfm carb, not a 600cfm carb. You might consider getting a ECZ-B iron intake, it will make your engine quieter than with an aluminum intake and it will perform better when cold.

Would a 350 cfm be a wiser choise? The reason I am trying to go this way is that I already have the 2 barrel intake. Was just thinking that this would be a cheaper route w/o spending the money for a new intak and carb when I have this. Also I was thinking that the 2 barrel would be cheaper to buy for one and more fuel efficiant? You will have to excuse that lack of knowledge it has been a long time since I have tinkered with auotmotive stuff.

a 500 CFM carb is fine......
As long as it is NOT a 2bbl.... thats a large Venturi diameter for a 2bbl I think thats probably what 286 merc meant
a 500 CFM Edelbrock 4bbl would be a nice choice for a Y IMO, you would probably have to jet it down to 4% leaner at cruise and power modes, but its only a rod change, which is 2 screws and 2 minutes, and an $8 set of metering rods I could walk you through it easily if your not familiar with the procedure.
I think it would provide excellent crisp throttle response and decent mileage, with the other two barrels standing by for fun time
