Yeah I cant figure this out either, just seems like really abnormal wear for these tires. You are sure that you had enough air in them? Did they wear evenly? Do you have documentation of the rotations?
Anyway, before I bought these, I almost went with the Nitto Dura Grapplers, their highway tread for big trucks. I went with these and am glad I did. I want to get 285s when these wear out, and I really want some BFG ATs because I like the way they look the best, but I dont feel like I can justify buying anything but more MS2s considering how quiet they are, how well they ride and handle, wet traction, and how long they last. And they look good too. However, I dont think Im gonna be needing tires anytime soon at the rate these are going. I have thought about taking these off and selling them on CL for half of what I paid for them though. At this point, I will probably never buy anything but Michelin or BFG, which are now owned by Michelin. I have just had too many good experiences with both.
My brother had the original Toyo A/T's, HATED them! Couple of my buddies have since bought the A/T II's, suppose to be hands down better. Our local Les Schwab dealer always want to have you pay to sipe them. From what I've noticed, they have better traction after, BUT they also wear out quicker. I don't know anything about the H/T's, their webpage touts the Tuff edition being ideal for high torque diesels.
My truck had Toyo HTs on from the PO, I liked them. Great highway tire for towing or daily driver, good traction in wet and quiet. But I took them into the rocks one time and tore up the tread. My own fault of course, but it illustrates that those are road tires.

WOW. Thanks for posting up that picture ... it's truly worth a thoughsand words! ~ Bugjr ~
Ok, I can't hold back here. We put LTX MS2's on my wife's Dodge Dakota 35K ago and they look like Studawg's picture.
I put them on my van for our Idaho trip last year which included 10 miles in and out on rock washboard and they look brand new.
Before that, my van came from the 4x4 converter with Toyo Open Country AT's load range E and, in the three sets I ran on them, I never got more than 30K on a set. And I always had some issue with them, bulging out a broken sidewall belt or something. No failures, just issues.
I have a second set of rims each for my van and my Bronco and usually run studded snow tires in the Winter, so I have thought about buying a pure Highway tire for the Summer.
If I ever do, it will be a Michelin based on our favorable experience with the LTX MS2's.
