So I have a major oil leak coming from some where near the back of my motor. it only leaks after i have been driving doesnt leak while running. i just changed out the ICP sensor and replace the o rings on the turbo. i know im going to have to clean it up to find it but was wondering if any one could give me a few suggestions on where to start looking
Have you rechecked your work? New to the 6.0 engine but expert on gas and i know with a gas motor that has a blown head gasket leaking oil it wont leak while sitting but when driving and under load the pressure will lift the head enough to make oil drip off the rear bumper. And from the sounds of it if you have the original 6.0 head bolts these motors lift heads.
yea i re checked it. im pretty sure i have the original head bolts i picked up some dye from the local parts store so after i get it cleaned up im going to drop that in and check it out
ok so i traced the oil leak to the passenger side just infront of the motor mount it looks like its either coming from the oil pan gasket or the crankshaft position sensor
you can but its not worth the amount of time to do it. its a pain. the trick is to drop the belt off the pully drop the bolts on the ac compressor and move it out of the wy. no need to un hook the line from it though as it will swing far enugh to let you do it
I got it out it was really easy I unbolted the battery ground cable and bracket and unbolted the grounding stud i have small hands so I was able to reach back and work on it the hardest part was getting all the crud off the bolt so I could get the socket on.
