Common practice is 5, in the middle.
But i think try 9 first the most damping, so you learn the max setting.
If it is too harsh go to 1, so you can get the mushy feel. I doubt a 1 number change can be felt so go 7 then 3 then last 5 if needed.
I have 2wd, 9 in front, 5 in back, easy to change but finicky **** with NO markings. Don't turn it beyond 1 or 9
I have the Wireless My Ride installed and that is the way to go so that you can adjust on the fly. I like the mushy feel so I run 2 front and 2 rear with stock springs. Plus I live on a bumpy dirt road. Plus when I tow, I just hit a button and change the setting from the drivers seat.
On the 05 Ex, I run them on 1 unless towing.
Towing, 3 in the front and 5 in the rear.
On the 02 F-350, 3 in the front and 2 in the rear unless towing.
Towing, 4 front and 6 or 7 in the rear, depends on how much weight is on the goose neck.
Snowplowing, 6 up front and 3 in the rear, snowplow weights is about 900 lbs.
The 2000 Ex has Bilstiens on it, no adjustment.
Your settings may vary!
Just play with it you will notice the different settings.
I run mine on 9 when towing camper and 5 when not towing. Tried running 3 while unloaded but it felt to soggy. I was surprised how much of a difference you can feel by turning the dial. Rear shocks had been installed before I purchased Ex. Want some for the front too.
Anyone else? My truck goes in at the end of this week to have 4 new RS9000's put on, steering stabilizer, RAS, 6.0 belt tensioner, and new belt. Then 3 adults and 3 kids are setting off for a 1200 mile trip. Guess I'll start them around setting 5. Really looking forward to seeing what the new ride with the Ranchos and RAS is like!
