I wanna change the engine on my escape 2006 but when we
Try to separate engine from torque, they wont move from each other!
We remove all the bolts and the 4 torque bolt also, nothing wanna move!
The torque converter has threaded studs that poke through a flex plate bolted to the output end of the crankshaft. If you remove the nuts from the threaded studs, the torque converter can then be pushed away from the flex plate, pushing the hub further into the transmission. The housing surrounding the torque converter, called the 'bell housing', is bolted to the block of the engine. Depending on which engine, the starter motor may be attached to the block or bolted to the bell housing. The bell housing is aligned to the block{radially} by studs or ferrules, which may stick a little when you try to separate the block from the bell housing. Make sure to remove all the block-to-bell-housing bolts. Some may be hidden by accessories or hoses and the like.
If you do not support the weight of the transmission, the bell housing may get bound against the block, and release when you least expect it. Generally, you can give either the block or the bell housing a good shake, having both supported, and the two will separate if you have all fasteners removed.
