Just ordered RAS for the rear of my 2000. I am hoping this will finally cure the white knuckling I have to do when towing my 30' TT. For the guys running the RAS and towing with the "stock springs", how big is the difference when towing?
Not towing I don't have any issues with "sway" or "wander". I have adjusted my hitch and WD bars until the cows came home and I cannot get the back end to level or sag as much. I know when towing with a 3500 Ram and my previous 2000 Expedition with the LLS, ( air bags ) I never had an issue like I do with this Excursion.
6 adults in my ex along with our luggage and my ras keeps the back end higher than the front a bit!
Before ras, 2 people and luggage cause back end to sag... i love it! And i don't tow, yet..
My ex had a 2-3 inch rack before i replaced my front spring, now its about an inch. It helps a lot with wheel hop, when your empty. She tows my 7k tt like a dream with the ras.
I tow a 31' tt with dual slide and I have ras and stock springs. I was happy with the improvement ras gave me over stock. Probably an inch to inch and a half of lift in the rear plus it helps a lot with the bouncing and feels more stable.
I installed them on my 05 diesel. Work great for everyday driving with people in the back and/or towing my small trailer ( loaded its 6000lbs) BUT towing my toyhauler and people in the truck....i added air bags. Make the world of difference..oh,,,,i also have a Hellwig sway bar and Ranch 9000s
I just ordered mine too. im hoping it makes a big difference in my towing. I have been so disappointed in how the excursion towed. I got hellwig sway bars and pro comp 9000's but im hoping the ras will make towing much better and if I still have some issues im going to put the v leafs I have sitting around in the front. But the front leafs I have right now don't bottom out and ride so smooth.
